We contacted one of
the winners who declined being named she had this to say, “we never even got crowns even the cheap ones(sic)” She further revealed that the promoters did not even made an attempt to
communicate with the girls. The promoters only communicated after I had
contacted Maynard Chizavare in relation to the story.
When we contacted
Chizavare 6 moths later he espoused the following remarks, “I am the founder of that pageant
and I am working on paying them, when this show was done the preps and
everything l was in zim busy applying my visa to Europe, l alone came back
5dyas prior to the show and the turn out was not well, so the board couldn't manage
to give the models their prizes, but right now l am working on it, I have take
the responsibility to make sure they get their prizes(sic)”
